Lucca - Welcome to your own everland

Lucca is famous all over the world as a town rich of Art, History and Culture and, since 1966, it has become one of the main events in the world of Comics, proving year by year to be the most spectacular and exciting Italian happening in the field of visual communication.

A long and fascinating story which, thanks to the passion and competence of international experts, editors, authors, critics and fans, made of Lucca one of the world capital cities of Comics. A leading role, achieved thanks to the capability of noticing, ahead of time, the most stimulating and promising omens, supporting Comics and Animation Movies at first with Illustration, and since 1993, with a new and important section, Lucca Games – dedicated to role games, board games and simulation games; last but not least, since 2000, a new multimedia section was added – Lucca Multimedia – and it has been an ever-growing success.

More than three-hundred exhibitors coming from all over the world, arranged in a 15.000 sqm. indoor area, ten big art exhibitions of original paintings in the prestigious setting of historical buildings in the very heart of the city, conventions and conferences, a huge number of new editorial productions, meetings with the dozens of artists joining in, four-hundred qualified journalists and more than sixty-five-thousand visitors: these are the actual numbers of LUCCA COMICS & GAMES, numbers which attested Lucca as an event that no cartoonist, game designer, editor, opinion leader or fan would ever miss.

At present, Lucca Comics & Games is a most important cultural event which is directed by the municipal administration of Lucca through an experienced and qualified staff. An ambitious task that also brought to the foundation, in 2001, of the new Italian Museum of Comics: the arrival point of a path started almost forty years ago and, above all, the beginning of a new adventure which makes of Lucca the fanciful city of Comics and Games: in the heart of Tuscany, in the heart of Italy, in the heart of fans all over the world.
