Hello to everyone at the Lucca Comics and Games Fair.
I’m so very sorry to not be with you in person for this fantastic gathering but unfortunately I will be in hospital having hip replacement surgery at exactly the same time that you are having fun here! We certainly didn’t plan it this way and I was so looking forward to being with you in your beautiful city but if any of you have met me before you’ll remember that I’ve been in pain and limping quite badly for years and having the chance to finally remedy that situation is just too important to miss. I know that Brian will be a terrific representative for both of us. He has put together a lovely body of work for his exhibition and I know he will also be delighted to sign books and answer questions. I will certainly be there in spirit and as soon as I can get around again I’ve promised myself a trip to Italy as a treat so you may see us both here again soon.
